Back on Track with this post-Thanksgiving guide

The Thanksgiving celebration was all about indulging in a feast of delicious delights—turkey, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, stuffing, and a whole array of mouthwatering dishes that probably had your stomach screaming, "WHY CANT I STOP!"


Now that you've temporarily set aside health and diet concerns for Thanksgiving... let me shoot you some tips briefly:


1) GET BACK 2 YOUR REGULAR EATING SCHEDULE


Following the second, third, and sometimes fourth Thanksgiving dinner plates, you might be tempted to skip meals. This behavior can cause your body to shift into burning FEWER calories because it knows you are going to shove more food into your mouth lol.

Fuel up like a metabolic maestro! Keep that metabolism rocking, blood sugar in check, and hunger hormones on a leash by chowing down on regular meals. Start the day with breakfast an hour after dragging yourself out of bed, and then keep the feast train rolling every three to five hours. Your metabolism will be so impressed; it might even send you a thank-you note!


2) BALANCE OUT YOUR CALORIES


Who needs calorie counting when you can veg out in style? Swap the diet drama for a veggie fiesta featuring asparagus, cabbage, spinach, and mushrooms. Throw in some lean protein, a sprinkle of healthy fats, and a dash of slow-burning starch for a meal that says, 'Calories? I don't know her! For each meal, aim for a third to a half cup of whole food carbs like whole grains and starchy veggies.


3) GOT SOME WATER?


Sure, family time might come with a side of your favorite adult beverage, but if you're making your way to 'overboard-ville,' pump the brakes post-Thanksgiving. Swap that extra tipple for some good ol' H2O. It's like a hydrating superhero, flushing out toxins and giving those calorie-packed Thanksgiving dishes the boot. Your body will thank you, and your liver might just throw a little party in gratitude! Set a goal of drinking 2-2.5 liters of water a day, or 8 glasses.


4) WORK IT OUT


Post-Thanksgiving action plan: hustle that body back to the gym, rev up that metabolism, and show those extra calories the exit door!
